A. Project Description

School dropouts became the major problem in the Educational System in our country .As revealed in the survey few years back, out of 100 pupils who enrolled in Grade I, only 43 got the High School Diploma. There were even children/people who have not gone to school. Poverty and lack of interests are the main reasons of these problems. Accreditation and Equivalency (A&E) class program in Alternative Learning System(ALS)under the Department of Education (DepEd)was created to minimize such problem.

New program was implemented in ALS to encourage more the target learners to go on in education. That's why one representative in every division was sent for eLearning Training workshop and act as eLearning facilitator when they return to their respective divisions. This new program involves the use of multimedia and the internet to improve the quality of teaching and learning by facilitating access to the resources and services as well as remote exchange and collaboration.

But because of inadequate  government funds the implementation was entrusted to us through linkaging to different organizations. To start the implementation, we need to have 4 units of internet ready computers/laptop(1 for the server and 3 for the learners) one set of LCD projector, computer tables and chairs. The Larena Central School Administrator gives his full support to this program. In fact, he allows us to utilize the existing building where we used to have our A&E class.

In this regard and in behalf of the personnel of ALS Larena District Center, I am appealing to the benevolent benefactors to donate the needed equipment so that this endeavor will be realized and successful.

Consequently, this caters to 6 learners daily,3 in the ,morning and another 3 in the afternoon with a total of 30 learners weekly until the school calendar year ends. After passing the A&E test, passers can either pursue college education, enroll in technical-vocational courses at TESDA or be employed in private or government enterprises or prepare themselves to work in other foreign countries.
