PROJECT PROPOSAL ON ACCREDITATION AND EQUIVALENCY,
DRESSMAKING AND COMPUTER CLASS AT TINAGO,SIQUIJOR,PROVINCE
OF SIQUIJOR
I. TITTLE:ACCREDITATION AND EQUIVALENCY, DRESSMAKING AND
COMPUTER CLASSES
A.Project Description:
Accreditation and Equivalency (A and E)class undertaken
by a Mobile Teacher is a yearly program of our Department
which cater the out-of-shool youths or dropped outs from
high school. They can't continue their studies in the se-
condary level because of financial constraints. So the
Department of Education is launching this which started
last 2003 to open a mobile class to areas where school are
not accessible and available. After one year of rigid stu-
dies the learners are qualified to take a national
"A and E" test.Once they passed the test, the learners are
qualified to enroll on college.If not,they can apply to
work on jobs that require a high school gradute. A Certifi
cate is issued to passers signed by the Secretary of
Education.
Our class under this program is opened in Tinago,Siquijor
with 25 enrollees.The class is going on recited only in a
small nipa hut that the learners are uncomfortable which is
not conducive to learning.It is in this contest that the
teacher concerned in soliciting aid from the charitable
person/ organization from Japan who can donate a learning
center for the class.
On the other hand,the building which is heartily donated
by the benevolent Japanese national/ organization will
be also utilized as a venue of the mobile teacher in charge
to open a livelihood class like dressmaking and computer
classes.This program provides the out-of-school youths with
literacy and livelihood skills development.In the recent
survey of the barangay officials and the school officials,
the teacher was able to enroll 25 learners for dreesmaking
class and another 25 clientele for computer class too.
These classes will be recited in the proposed learning
center building that will be erected in the barangay lot.
These are skills training so facilities and equipment rela-
tive to are essentials to harness our learners with suffi-
cient knowledge, expertise and skills.
Furthermore, the graduates of the above classes are
needed for job placement in other foreign countries like
Taiwan Henceforth, acquisition of these employable liveli-
hood and literacy skills would help much to earn a higher
income of the learners.
The Barangay Council through a Barangay Resolution unani-
mousely approved an area within the Barangay lot where the
Learning Center Building would be erected. Of coures,this
project shall be occupied by the Mobile Teacher as care
taker and monitored frequently by the Department of Educa-
tion Supervisor and Local Goverment Unit personel.

E.Rationale and Objectives:
This Accreditation and Equivalency (A and E) Program of the Depart-
ment of Education was implemented last 2003. It aims to give education
to out-of-school youths and dropped outs who can not go on their stu-
dies because of poverty.Another objective of the program is to im-
prove the socio-economic status of the poor out-of-school youths and
adults by enhancing their education capabilities to become self-
reliant hence improveing the quality of their life.
